Current Needs
Wish List for the Shelter of MARYS House as of JANUARY, 2013
As MARYS House is a faith-based organization we do not receive federal or state funding for anything; this includes food, clothing, and supplies for residents and operational expenses like, insurance, utilities, office supplies, and salaries. MARYS House relies almost solely on our local community (businesses, churches, civic organizations, and individuals) for financial support. We were quite blessed and overwhelmed with many generous donations of clothing, toys, and household items over the holidays last year and we are at a point where we have no place to store anything else for the moment. What we are in most need of at this time is financial donations and we will be grateful for whatever you can offer.
GIFT CARDS are always requested and at the top of our list because it allows us to purchase items for each residents’ specific needs and to buy groceries and supplies needed to operate the shelter on a daily basis. Walmart (which we use for everything from food and cleaning supplies to paying for prescriptions), Ingles (which we use for groceries and gas), Staples, Lowes or Home Depot and Bi-Lo.
Items in BOLD are almost always needed on a daily basis. Items highlighted are immediate needs at this time.
Cultural sensitivity is greatly appreciated when donating personal care & hair products, clothing items, and toys as we serve a diverse population.
