Ministry Alliance for Regaining Your Safety
The MARYS House family (staff, volunteers, and Board of Directors) works toward the prevention and cessation of domestic violence through intervention, education, and outreach. Our goal is to give victims empowerment by reestablishing the victim’s own personal power and control, providing her ongoing support and building upon her current strengths. In our emergency shelter, we strive to keep the family unit together by using FAMILY ROOMS where mothers reside with their children. This philosophy makes our shelter unique. Modeling Christian love through our compassionate service to clients, we do all we can to support their faith journey and to make their relationship with Christ central in their lives. Since opening in October, 2008, MARYS House has provided emergency shelter to over 320 women and children, forever impacting their lives. More than 80 families have gotten assistance from MARYS Hope, our transitional services ministry. We also saw women and children develop personal relationships with Christ as a result of our programs. We want to not only SAVE lives, we want to forever CHANGE lives!

MARYS House (Ministry Alliance for Regaining Your Safety) is a 501(c) (3) non-profit, community based collaboration between local churches, law enforcement, business, and community agencies of Pickens County, SC. This alliance includes several programs. The domestic shelter provides an immediate, short-term shelter for women and their children who are caught in the trauma of domestic violence. MARYS Hope is a non-shelter transition services program designed to move families from trauma to triumph in re-establishing a safe and independent life. MARYS Closet is not only a clothing ministry, but also a means of financial support for all MARYS House ministries. Our youth programs strive to change the way young people think and act, thereby working toward an end to violence.
